Barcelona, Liverpool, Bayern, Juventus secure key wins in UEFA Champions League

Europe, Jan. 22 (SANA) Barcelona and Liverpool were among the winners in the seventh round of the UEFA Champions League, with Bayern Munich and Juventus also claiming victories.

Barcelona defeated Czech side Slavia Prague 4-2, with goals from Fermín López (2), Dani Olmo, and Robert Lewandowski. Slavia Prague scored through Vasil Koshy and an own goal by Lewandowski. The win raises Barcelona’s points tally to 13, keeping their hopes alive for direct qualification to the Round of 16.

Liverpool moved closer to the knockout stage after a 3-0 victory over Marseille. Dominik Szoboszlai scored just before halftime, followed by an own goal from Gerónimo Rulli and a stoppage-time strike from Cody Gakpo. The win puts Liverpool fourth in Group standings with 15 points.

Bayern Munich beat Union Saint-Gilloise 2-0 at the Allianz Arena, with Harry Kane scoring both goals. Bayern now sit second in their group with 18 points.

Juventus defeated Benfica 2-0, thanks to goals from Kevrin Thuram and Weston McKennie, moving to 12 points in their group. Benfica remain on six points.
