Beijing, SANA-China successfully launched a new group of low-Earth orbit satellites on Tuesday from the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site in the southern province of Hainan.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the launch marks the tenth satellite cluster deployed under China’s space-based internet constellation program. The satellites were carried into orbit aboard a Long March-8A rocket, which lifted off at 3:00 a.m. Beijing time, and have since entered their designated trajectories.
The mission forms part of China’s broader strategy to expand its space-based communications network and reinforce its digital infrastructure, positioning the country to compete with global systems such as Starlink. The Long March series continues to serve as the backbone of China’s rapidly advancing space program.
