Damascus, July 24 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa attended on Friday the opening of the National Arabian Horse Beauty Show Championship at the Elite International Stadium in the Central Equestrian Club in al-Dimas, Damascus Countryside.
Zaid Abu Zaid, president of the Syrian Equestrian Federation and head of the championship’s organizing committee, said the National Arabian Horse Beauty Show Championship reflects the prominent place of Arabian horses in Syria’s heritage and underscores efforts to preserve this enduring legacy as an integral part of the country’s cultural and national identity.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Abu Zaid said the event brings together breeders, equestrians, and Arabian horse enthusiasts from across Syria to celebrate the breed’s rich heritage and showcase its beauty, authenticity, and strength, while promoting the values of fair competition.
He said Arabian horses have long been intertwined with the history and legacy of the nation and stressed that preserving this heritage is a shared responsibility requiring collective efforts.
Abu Zaid welcomed participants, guests, and horse enthusiasts, expressing hope that the championship would achieve its goal of promoting purebred Arabian horses and strengthening their presence at national and international events.
