Damascus, July 2 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa held a phone call on Wednesday with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to discusss the fraternal relations between the two countries and prospects for strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation in a way that serves their shared interests.
The two leaders also reviewed developments in the region, particularly the latest progress in negotiations between the U.S. and Iran within the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the two sides, as well as ongoing efforts to advance diplomatic solutions that contribute to regional security and stability.
During the call, both sides underscored the importance of continuing coordination and consultation and supporting regional and international efforts aimed at promoting de-escalation and preserving the security and stability of the region in the interests of its peoples.
