Damascus, Apr.26 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa stressed Sunday that justice will stand as one of the highest values upheld by the Syrian people and a supreme objective that the Syrian state and its institutions are committed to achieving.
“This is essential to delivering justice to victims, healing wounds, strengthening civil peace and communal coexistence, and reaffirming our commitment to pursuing those responsible for the suffering and pain inflicted on the Syrian people” President al-Sharaa added via the (X) platform.
The first public trial sessions for the deposed regime official kicked off earlier today, Sunday, where Atef Najib appeared before the court, on charges related to committing crimes against the Syrian people. The session concluded with setting Sunday, May 10, as the date for the second session to consider the case and continue the trial procedures.
