Geneva, Sept. 8 (SANA) Qatar on Tuesday called on the international community to continue providing political, economic and humanitarian support to Syria and lift all sanctions imposed on the country, while welcoming efforts on transitional justice and missing persons.

Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Hind Abdulrahman al-Muftah, made the remarks during the 63rd session of the U.N. Human Rights Council, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA).

Al-Muftah welcomed the new phase in Syria that provides an opportunity to build a future guaranteeing the rights of Syrians.

She also reiterated Qatar’s support for the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into Syrian state military institutions and praised efforts to advance transitional justice and address the issue of missing persons.

The Qatari envoy urged the international community to take a firm stance against Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, while stressing the need to maintain political, economic and humanitarian support for Syria and remove all sanctions imposed on the country.
