Damascus, April 3 (SANA) Protests were staged across Syria on Friday in condemnation of a newly approved Israeli law allowing the execution of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
In Lattakia province, residents of the southern Raml neighborhood rallied against the decision, waving Syrian and Palestinian flags and carrying banners condemning the move. Protesters voiced solidarity with Palestinian prisoners and expressed support for the Palestinian people’s rights to their land and holy sites.
In the Damascus countryside, a demonstration in al-Dumayr called for the protection of prisoners’ rights in accordance with international law. Participants carried banners calling for accountability for Israeli violations and for respect for humanitarian standards.
Similar protests were reported in southern Syria, including the Daraa Palestinian refugee camp, where residents and Palestinian refugees gathered to denounce the measures as arbitrary and called for greater international attention.
Nearby, in al-Muzayrib, residents staged a protest stressing the need for urgent international action to address Israeli violations against Palestinian prisoners.
