Ankara, Feb.27 ( SANA) Syrian Information Minister, Hamza al-Mustafa, discussed Thursday with Burhanettin Duran, Head of the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Department, means of establishing a strategic partnership to “combat media disinformation,” as part of efforts to enhance cooperation between Syrian and Turkish media institutions.
During the meeting, both sides affirmed that relations between the Syrian and Turkish peoples are “deeply rooted” and transcend shared interests, affirming the importance of communication channels in supporting regional peace and stability.
Minister of Information is visiting the Turkish capital, Ankara, at the invitation of Head of the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Department.
The visit aims to enhance joint coordination between the two countries in the media and communications sectors.
Earlier, the Minister participated in an international symposium entitled “Türkiye’s Role in Establishing Peace in Conflict Zones from a Media Perspective,” which focused on media policies in conflict zones and their role in promoting a discourse of peace.
