Washington, Jan.26 (SANA) U.S. Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack called for preserving the ceasefire in northeastern Syria.

In a post on X on Monday, Barrack said he had conducted a productive phone call with Masoud Barzani, leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, to discuss the situation in Syria, stressing the importance of maintaining the ceasefire and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need, particularly in Ain al-Arab.

Earlier this month, Barrack reiterated U.S. support and commitment to advancing the integration process stipulated in the January 18 agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF Organization, while Syria’s Ministry of Defense announced last Saturday the extension of the ceasefire with the SDF for an additional 15 days.
