Ankara, Jan.9 (SANA) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan underlined the importance of establishing security and stability in Syria to ensure the welfare of its citizens.
During a joint press conference with Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi in Ankara, Fidan stressed the necessity for the SDF organization to comply with the March 10 agreement of last year and to meet its commitments promptly.
He added that Turkey is closely following developments in Syria and supports the Syrian government’s operations against SDF-affiliated armed groups in Aleppo, aiming to restore security and normal life in the city.
Fidan also discussed developments in Syria, Yemen, Somalia, and Sudan with the Indonesian delegation, in addition to bilateral relations, noting that Turkey and Indonesia share a common vision on regional and international matters and will continue to deepen political and security cooperation comprehensively.
He reiterated Turkey’s concern over recent SDF attacks in Aleppo, stressing that they confirm Ankara’s longstanding warnings regarding the group’s separatist tendencies.
