Lebanese President condemns terrorist attack on Homs Mosque

Beirut, Dec. 26 (SANA) Lebanese President, Joseph Aoun, strongly condemned on Friday the terrorist attack that targeted one of the mosques in Homs city during Friday prayers, affirming Lebanon support for Syria.

President Aoun stressed an unwavering support for Syria in its fight against terrorism and in its pursuit of building a state founded on freedom, democracy, modernity and tolerance, values that guarantee Syria’s unity and represent a vital national and strategic interest for Lebanon.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences and deepest solidarity to my brother, President Ahmad al-Sharaa, to the beloved Syrian people, and in particular to the victims of this heinous crime, their families, and their spiritual leaders, “he said.

Earlier Friday, a terrorist explosion hit Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque in the Wadi al-Dahab neighborhood of Homs, central Syria, claiming the lives of eight people and injuring many others in an initial toll.
