Mohammad Al Momani, Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications and Jordan’s Government Spokesman, affirmed the deep fraternal relations between Jordan and Syria and highlighted the importance of strengthening media cooperation and coordination between the two countries—particularly in combating false and misleading information and in exchanging expertise to enhance professional media performance.
According to SANA’s correspondent, Al-Momani, during his meeting today in Amman with a delegation from the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) headed by Director-General Ziyad Al-Mahamid, said the ministry attaches special importance to promoting Arab media partnerships based on knowledge and experience sharing. Such partnerships, he noted, help improve the quality of professional and credible media content and reinforce the role of official media as a primary source of accurate information.
For his part, Al-Mahamid said that the memorandum of understanding signed with the Jordan News Agency (Petra) represents an important milestone in strengthening joint media cooperation between the two sides. He stressed the significance of building Arab media partnerships that help curb the spread of rumors and misinformation, strengthen public trust in official media institutions, and bolster the Arab media’s presence on the international stage.
The meeting followed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between SANA and Petra, aimed at enhancing cooperation in journalistic and media services through the exchange of news, photos, and multimedia content, as well as technical expertise and coordination in international media forums.
