President al-Sharaa opens UNGA speech, first Syrian leader to do so in 6 decades

President Ahmad al-Sharaa begins his UNGA speech on Wednesday, becoming the first Syrian leader to address the assembly since Nureddin al-Atassi in 1967. Neither Hafez nor Bashar al-Assad ever spoke at the UNGA.
