Syrian-American Alliance welcomes U.S. Delegation Visit to Damascus

Washington, SANA-The Syrian-American Alliance for Peace and Prosperity affirmed that the recent visit of a high-level U.S. delegation to Syria represents “a pivotal step in ongoing efforts to lift sanctions and support Syria’s recovery.”

In a statement published on the platform X, the alliance said: “This visit opens the door to constructive U.S. engagement in Syria’s path toward reconstruction and stability.” The alliance also expressed deep gratitude to Senator Jeanne Shaheen for listening to the voices of the Syrian-American community and recognizing the importance of addressing the sanctions issue, which directly affects the lives of the Syrian people.

Earlier on Monday in Damascus, President Ahmad al-Sharaa received the U.S. delegation, led by Special Envoy to Syria Thomas Barrack. The delegation included Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Congressman Joe Wilson.
