Lucy Milgrim, American girl, records-breaking achievements in weightlifting and wrestling

Washington, June 10 (SANA) Lucy Milgrim, a 10-year-old girl from New York State, has attracted widespread media attention after achieving record-setting performances in weightlifting while also excelling in wrestling.

According to The New York Times, Milgrim has posted notable results in her age category, lifting weights that in some exercises exceed twice her body weight, particularly in the deadlift.

She began training at an early age in a home gym under the supervision of her family and has since set U.S. records within her age group. Videos of her performances have also gained significant attention on social media, making her one of the emerging young figures in strength sports.

Her parents, both of whom have athletic backgrounds, began introducing her to strength training exercises when she was eight years old.

Pediatric specialists cited by the newspaper said resistance training can be safe for children when conducted under proper supervision and with appropriate techniques.
Experts also noted that strength sports are becoming increasingly popular among younger age groups in the United States, alongside the growing influence of social media platforms.

They stressed the importance of gradual and safe athletic training that takes into account children’s health and natural physical development.
