Cannes, May 21 (SANA) Police in Cannes are investigating the overnight theft of a luxury Richard Mille watch, reportedly worth between €700,000 and €1 million, during the Film Festival period, according to local reports.
The incident took place between 3:00 and 3:15 a.m. at the Palm Beach venue on the Croisette, involving an American national who was allegedly robbed inside the establishment.
According to the initial investigation, the victim was jostled near toilets before noticing contact on his back, after which the watch disappeared.
Police were alerted shortly after 4:00 a.m., and the victim later filed a complaint at Cannes’ tourist reception centre.
The investigation has been handed to the local judicial police service. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday afternoon, while CCTV footage is being reviewed to identify those responsible.
