Abu Dhabi, SANA-The UAE Cyber Security Council announced that over 12,000 cyberattacks have been recorded this year through open and untrusted Wi-Fi networks, accounting for around 35% of total cyber incidents in the country.
According to the council, hackers use public networks as “digital traps” to steal passwords, banking details, and personal data, making them among the most dangerous channels for cybercrime.
The council warned users—particularly in public places such as cafés, airports, and malls—of heightened risks, urging strict adherence to cybersecurity precautions to protect sensitive information.
