Capitals , Aug7 (SANA) Arab and regional condemnation continued on Friday following Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s Najran region, which wounded 11 civilians, as Bahrain, Jordan and the Muslim World League condemned the attacks and warned of their threat to regional security and stability.
Bahrain strongly condemned the attacks, saying the use of indiscriminate projectiles targeting civilian facilities and objects in Najran constituted a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law and the UN Charter.
In a statement, the Bahraini Foreign Ministry expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for measures it takes to protect its sovereignty, security and stability and safeguard civilians and vital facilities. It called for a firm international response to hold the Houthi militia accountable and cut off its sources of funding and arms.
Jordan also condemned the attack, describing it as a blatant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a threat to its security, stability and territorial integrity, as well as a flagrant breach of international law and the UN Charter.
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry affirmed Amman’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures it takes to protect its sovereignty, security and the safety of its citizens and residents.
The Muslim World League also condemned the attacks. Its Secretary-General of the League and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Mohammad bin Abdul Karim al-Issa, said the attacks violated religious values as well as international and humanitarian laws and norms, and reflected the Houthi militia’s deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian objects.
Al-Issa expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its measures to safeguard its security, sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents.
Earlier Friday, spokesperson for the Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen Major General Turki Al-Malki said 11 civilians were wounded in the Houthi attack on Najran.
