Riyadh, Aug. 7 (SANA) Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi on Friday condemned attacks by the Houthi militia on Saudi Arabia’s Najran region that injured several civilians.

In a statement, Albudaiwi said targeting civilians and civilian objects constitutes a violation of international law and international humanitarian law, adding that such attacks threaten regional and international security and stability.

He stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of the security of the Gulf states, reaffirming the council’s solidarity with the kingdom and its support for measures taken to protect its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Earlier Friday, Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, said 11 civilians were injured in Najran in an attack carried out by the Houthi militia.
