Tunis, Doha, Manama, Kuwait, July 17 (SANA) The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, along with Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, on Friday condemned renewed Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting several Arab countries, describing them as serious violations of international law and state sovereignty.
The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers said in a statement that it strongly condemned the Iranian attacks targeting Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait earlier on Friday.
The statement said the attacks constituted a grave escalation that threatened regional security and stability, calling them a flagrant violation of international law and the principles of good-neighborly relations.
It added that the attacks reflected Iran’s continued hostile conduct and efforts to undermine regional security and international peace.
The Council reaffirmed its full solidarity with Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait, expressing support for all measures taken by the four countries to safeguard their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of their citizens and residents.
Separately, Qatar condemned renewed Iranian attacks on its territory and on Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, saying the strikes represented a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the targeted states, as well as a breach of international law, the U.N. Charter, and the principles of good-neighborly relations.
According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Qatari Foreign Ministry warned that the continued attacks risked escalating regional tensions and undermining political and diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring security and stability.
The ministry said Qatar reserved its right to respond in accordance with international law and Article 51 of the U.N. Charter, and to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, territory, and citizens.
Bahrain and Kuwait also condemned the renewed Iranian attacks.
Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry said missile and drone attacks targeting civilian and vital facilities in Bahrain, as well as in Kuwait, Qatar, and Jordan, represented a dangerous escalation threatening civilian safety and regional security, and violated international law, the U.N. Charter, and the principles of good-neighborly relations.
The ministry reaffirmed Bahrain’s solidarity with the affected countries and supported their right to take legitimate measures to defend their sovereignty and security under international law, Article 51 of the U.N. Charter, and the GCC Joint Defence Agreement.
It also urged the international community, particularly the U.N. Security Council, to take firm action to compel Iran to halt hostile acts, ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, and hold Tehran accountable under international law.
Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry also condemned the attacks in a statement posted on X, expressing full solidarity with the affected countries and support for measures taken to defend their sovereignty.
The condemnations come amid renewed exchanges of military strikes between the United States and Iran, which have been accompanied by repeated attacks affecting Gulf states and Jordan.
