Regional Capitals, June 27 (SANA) Arab countries on Saturday condemned Iranian drone attacks on Bahrain, expressing solidarity with the Gulf kingdom and warning that the incident threatens regional security and ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions.
In separate statements, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Jordan denounced the attacks as a violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty and international law, while reaffirming support for the kingdom’s security and territorial integrity.
The UAE said the attacks represented a flagrant violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability, pledging full support for measures taken by Manama to safeguard the country.
Kuwait described the attack as a serious breach of sovereignty, international law and the UN Charter, warning that continued attacks risk undermining regional and international efforts aimed at restoring calm.
Egypt said the drone strike constituted an unacceptable escalation that could jeopardize ongoing regional initiatives to reduce tensions, calling on all parties to avoid actions that could further inflame the situation.
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jassem Mohamed Al Budaiwi also condemned the attacks, saying continued strikes on civilian facilities and critical infrastructure undermine regional and international efforts to contain the crisis and restore stability. He reiterated the GCC’s support for Bahrain’s efforts to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Qatar said the attack was a flagrant violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty and international law, stressing the importance of diplomacy, dialogue and de-escalation to preserve regional security.
Saudi Arabia condemned the attack as a violation of international law and the UN Charter, warning that such actions undermine international efforts to restore peace and stability in the region. The kingdom reaffirmed its full support for Bahrain.
Jordan likewise condemned the attack, describing it as a serious escalation and a violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity. Amman reiterated its full solidarity with Bahrain and support for measures taken to protect its citizens and residents.
Earlier on Saturday, Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Iranian drones had targeted the kingdom before dawn, describing the incident as a blatant act of aggression, a direct threat to Bahrain’s security, and a clear violation of international law.
