Damascus Airport welcomes pilgrims from Syrian Ministry of Defense wounded personnel

Damascus, SANA-Damascus International Airport witnessed a special reception Monday evening for 200 pilgrims from among the wounded personnel of the Syrian Ministry of Defense—individuals with disabilities—returning to Syria after performing the Hajj pilgrimage. This initiative was part of a grant extended by President Ahmad al-Sharaa.

According to a statement by the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority on its Telegram channel, the pilgrims were received by a delegation from the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Defense Major General Mohammad Khair Hassan Shuaib, along with an aviation authority delegation led by Public Relations Director Alaa Sallal.

The Authority noted that the reception reflected appreciation for the sacrifices made by these heroic wounded servicemen and underscored the state’s commitment to supporting them and ensuring they were able to fulfill their religious duties with dignity, care, and respect.
