Agricultural Scientific Research allocates a program to calculate water needs in Syria

Damascus, SANA- General Commission for Agricultural Scientific Research has developed a program for farmers and agricultural project owners to calculate water requirements based on historical data for the regions in Syria.

The program is free and was developed by a number of researchers from Natural Resources Research Administration, as Dr. Ayman Hijazi and engineers Hadi Nasrallah and Mazen Doghouz.

“This program calculates the actual water requirements of plants based on specific criteria, as determining the planting and harvesting time, in addition to identifying the type of soil to determine the amount of irrigation used.

This program is considered the first one in Arab region to calculate water requirements based on climatic conditions, as its database includes most of crops grown in Syria.
