Justice Ministry pledges full cooperation with Oversight Authority to combat corruption

Damascus, SANA- During a meeting on Monday with Head of the Central Authority for Oversight and Inspection, Engineer Amer Al-Ali, Minister of Justice Dr. Mazhar al-Weis affirmed the Ministry’s readiness to provide all facilities for effective cooperation with the Authority.

He highlighted his support for the vital role the Authority plays in confronting corruption and achieving reform.

Al-Weis explained during the meeting that the scale of the challenges is significant and necessitates the integration of state agencies, considering the Authority ‘s work as evidence of the government’s seriousness in reform.

For his part, the Head of the Central Authority pointed to the challenges it faces, including dilapidated infrastructure and corruption.

He emphasized the necessity of reconstruction, evaluating employee performance, and bridging the gap with relevant ministries.

Al-Ali stressed the importance of building an independent and effective oversight system, reaffirming the crucial nature of close cooperation with the Ministry of Justice to achieve shared goals in combating corruption and promoting integrity.
