Syria, Qatar discuss ways to upgrade communications sector in Syria

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Communications and Technology Abdul Salam Haykal discussed with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Qatari Embassy in Syria, Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, and his accompanying delegation, ways to enhance and develop joint cooperation to advance the telecommunications sector in Syria.

The meeting dealt with the possibility of benefiting from the Qatari experience in the field of smart applications, innovation, digital transformation and communications technology, and applying this in Syria, most notably improving the quality of the communications network and developing infrastructure in general.

Chargé d’Affairs of the Qatari Embassy expressed his country’s readiness to cooperate with the Ministry in all fields, especially improving infrastructure, exchanging experiences, and providing the necessary support in the technology, communications and digital transformation sectors.
