Damascus, SANA- Minister of Sports and Youth, Mohammad Samih al-Hamoud, met with Pakistan’s Ambassador in Damascus, Omar Khan, to discuss ways to expand sports cooperation between the two countries and exchange expertise to serve the development of competitive sports in Syria and enhance regional partnership in this field.
During the meeting, areas of cooperation were discussed, including the establishment of training workshops for Syrian athletes, particularly in sports in which Pakistan excels, such as wrestling and athletics, in addition to introducing cricket and field hockey to Syria.
The possibility of providing scholarships for Syrian students wishing to study sports management and athletic training at Pakistani universities was also discussed, as well as the exchange of sports technology to support the development of sports systems in Syria.
