Former Minister of Information: Al-Ikhbariya new broadcast is a step towards Free Media

Damascus, SANA- Former Minister of Information, Mohammad al-Omar, stressed that the launching of the Syrian al-Ikhbariya Channel is a turning point in the national media’s march and a step towards a free and responsible press that reflects the aspirations of the people.

In a tweet on X, al-Omar pointed to the major challenges that previously faced the prelaunch of Syrian TV, adding that free speech is a pillar of liberation and human development, and that honest media is the voice of the oppressed in the face of misleading and propaganda.

Al-Omar hoped that al-Ikhbariya Channel would be a platform for all Syrians, promoting professionalism and graduating a generation of free media professionals’ worthy of the sacrifices of the Syrian people.
