Damascus, SANA-President Ahmad al-Sharaa offered his condolences on the passing of Pope Francis.
The condolence cable read, “I offer my condolences to the Roman Catholic community on the passing of Pope Francis.
Over the years, Pope Francis stood with the Syrian people in their darkest times, continually raising his voice against the violence and injustice that targeted the Syrian people.
His calls transcended political boundaries, and his legacy of moral courage and solidarity will live on in the hearts of many in our homeland.”.
