Sweida, Dec. 16 (SANA) The Syrian Civil Defense renewed its call on Tuesday for the immediate and unconditional release of volunteer Hamza al-Amarin, who was kidnapped five months ago by armed groups in Sweida while conducting a humanitarian mission to evacuate civilians and a United Nations team.

In a statement released on its Telegram channel, the organization described al-Amarin’s continued abduction as a “serious violation of humanitarian norms and international law” that protects relief workers.
The Syrian Civil Defense highlighted al-Amarin’s dedication to saving lives, noting that he was one of the first responders in Syria’s most difficult circumstances and symbolizes the human values upheld by the Syrian people.
The statement emphasized that this “crime targets all those working towards a safe and dignified future for Syrians”. Communication with al-Amarin was lost on July 16 while he was carrying out the evacuation mission in Sweida province.
