Damascus, Dec.13 (SANA) The number of participants in the popular celebrations held on the first anniversary of Syria’s Liberation Day on December 8 reached more than 5.3 million Syrian citizens, according to statistics announced by Interior Ministry.
The massive popular celebrations witnessed across many Syrian provinces were accompanied by intensive efforts from the security forces, who worked throughout the days of the festivities to ensure safety and stability in all parts of the country.
Swift response to some breaches
On a relevant context, Interior Ministry said that security violations which occurred during the celebrations in some provinces were dealt with quickly and effectively. The most notable incidents included;

In Damascus and Damascus countryside, discovery of a warehouse containing suicide drones in Damascus countryside and the seizure of an explosive device in al-Karama Square in Jaramana.
In Latakia: seizure of landmines and “spider” mines in the village of Atara in the Rabia district.
In Aleppo and its countryside; celebrations in the town of Maskanah were subjected to gunfire from “SDF” forces.
In Daraa: a Special Forces’ barracks in the town of Nahta was attacked by unknown gunmen.
In Homs: a car carrying weapons and firing shots was stopped.
In Hama: security authorities received 70 reports of random gunfire, leading to the confiscation of 90 weapons.
