Damascus, Dec.8 (SANA) Syria has restored its vital role and standing on the international stage thanks to the resilience and unity of its people and the political vision of its leadership, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ibrahim Olabi, said.
In a post on platform X, Olabi highlighted Syria’s major diplomatic achievements in recent months, including President Ahmad al-Sharaa’s historic visit to the United Nations and meetings with world leaders, the rare Security Council consensus on lifting sanctions, the adoption of a resolution supporting Syria’s sovereignty over the occupied Golan with a record-high vote, and the unprecedented visit of Security Council members to Syria.
“These achievements are the result of sustained efforts that have restored Syria’s pivotal role internationally, befitting its name, status, and people,” Olabi said, emphasizing that the country’s international standing has been reestablished.
Olabi added, “I leave Syria today on Liberation Day, carrying its name and story to the world, defending its rights before the nations,”
