Damascus, Dec.2 ( SANA) Syrian Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa and Yemen’s Charge d’Affaires in Damascus, Mohammad Ba’kar, underscored the importance of restoring relations between the two countries and expressed their commitment to advancing cooperation across multiple sectors.
During the meeting, held at the Ministry of Information in Damascus, Ba’akr extended congratulations to the Syrian people on the occasion of Liberation Day and praised the achievements Syria has made across various fields.
Both sides voiced their intention to enhance media cooperation, including plans to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Yemeni News Agency Saba and the Syrian Arab News Agency SANA, establish a direct communication channel between the two governments, and coordinate efforts to counter misleading content targeting both nations. They also emphasized the need to encourage reciprocal media coverage that reflects the depth of Syrian-Yemeni relations.
Baakr also presented an overview of recent political and military developments in Yemen, reaffirming his country’s full support for the Syrian government and people as they work toward building their new state.
