Health Ministry signs agreement with "Rahma Beyond Limits" to support health sector

The Syrian Ministry of Health signed a cooperation agreement on Thursday with the Turkish humanitarian organization “Rahma Beyond Limits”, with the support of Islamic Relief USA, aimed at advancing Syria’s health sector.

The agreement includes provisions to supply medical supplies, equipment, and medicines to health facilities, rehabilitate infrastructure, and train medical and healthcare staff.

Minister of Health Musab al-Ali stated to SANA that the agreement will take effect in the first month of the upcoming year due to the significant demand in the health sector. He emphasized that the Ministry is focused on strengthening its partnerships with both local and international organizations to improve Syria’s healthcare system.

Ammar al-Munjed, Executive Director of “Rahma Beyond Limits”, highlighted that the agreement will supply hospitals and healthcare centers with essential equipment and medications over the three-year implementation period. He underscored the agreement’s significance in supporting Syria’s medical efforts and ensuring continuous funding for healthcare projects.

Ahmed Shahada, Executive Director of Islamic Relief USA, noted that their organization would work to identify key needs within a broader cooperation framework encompassing health, education, and relief sectors. This framework aims to secure necessary aid for the Syrian people during this critical phase.

“Rahma Beyond Limits” is a non-profit humanitarian organization based in Turkey, providing assistance to those in need and in conflict zones, including food, shelter, and healthcare services.

Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) is a non-profit organization based in the United States, a member of a global network of Islamic relief organizations. It aims to provide humanitarian aid and development assistance, irrespective of race, religion, or gender, and operates in over 40 countries worldwide.

This agreement forms part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to enhance Syria’s healthcare system by partnering with both local and international organizations, ensuring the provision of essential supplies to hospitals and healthcare centers across the country.
