Syria attracts Arab and global investment at the 9th Future Investment Initiative

Syria’s participation in the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh marks a significant step in attracting both Arab and global investments, while strengthening economic cooperation worldwide.

Members of the Syrian government delegation called their visit a success, with key meetings held with high-level international officials and investors. In these discussions, Syria highlighted its investment opportunities, reaffirming its commitment to improving the investment climate and fostering international development partnerships.

Exploring New Investment Avenues for Syria

Talal Al-Hilali, Director-General of the Syrian Investment Authority, noted that the delegation participated in one of the world’s most prominent investment forums, engaging with top global investors and companies. He stated that Syria would soon announce a series of strategic projects in partnership with Saudi Arabia, which will benefit both nations.

In the Syrian aviation sector, Omar Al-Hosari, head of Syria’s General Authority for Civil Aviation, discussed investment opportunities in airports, air navigation, and airlines. He emphasized that several Saudi companies expressed a strong willingness to enter the Syrian market, alongside growing interest from other international firms.
Additionally, agreements were also made to strengthen cooperation with Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Civil Aviation, with plans for a future Syrian delegation to visit Riyadh to exchange expertise and explore further investment opportunities.

Financial and Development Opportunities

Safwat Raslan, Director of the Syrian Development Fund, explained that part of the delegation’s mission was to engage with the Syrian expatriate community in Riyadh. He also noted that the delegation held meetings with Saudi financial institutions and international development funds to discuss strategic partnerships and investment opportunities in Syria.

The ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative, held under the theme “The Key to Prosperity,” brought together global leaders, investors, and decision-makers to explore how technology and economic collaboration can foster a prosperous and sustainable future.
