President Ahmad al-Sharaa stated on Sunday that rebuilding Syria is a collective responsibility and called on all Syrians to contribute to the construction of their new country. He hailed the People’s Assembly elections as an important milestone in cementing national participation.
In a speech, during his visit to observe the progress of the parliamentary elections at the National Library Center in Damascus, President al-Sharaa noted that over the past seven months, Syria has been able to accomplish this remarkable task and embark on an electoral process.

The President clarified that this electoral process is practically moderate, suited to the current circumstances in Syria, and aligned with the transitional phase the country is undergoing.
He further emphasized that the shared involvement and unity among Syrians in this critical historical moment is highly significant, calling on Syrians to be proud of their ability to transition within just a few months from a period of war, chaos, and destruction to a phase that includes elections and broad participation.
President al-Sharaa reiterated that rebuilding Syria is a collective responsibility and is not limited to a few individuals.
“Every Syrian must play a role in building the new country” al-Sharaa said hoping that these elections will bring the best representatives of Syria to the People’s Assembly to address vital issues, pass stalled laws, and approve the national budget.
President al-Sharaa added that there are many pending issues that need to be moved forward, stressing that Syria has managed, in a short time, to fill this crucial gap in representing the people in the parliament, ensure the legislative process moves forward quickly and oversee the government actions.
President al-Sharaa concluded by expressing hope that the new Assembly would mark a new chapter of prosperity for Syria, and be a significant and bold step forward. “As Syrians have consistently excelled in their achievements throughout history and recent years, we will continue to see new innovations and successes in the days to come,” he added.
