Temperatures to Drop, Chance of Light Rain in Western Regions

Damascus, SANA-Temperatures are expected to drop slightly, reaching near or slightly above average, as the country is affected by an extension of the Indian monsoon depression, accompanied by southwesterly currents in the upper atmosphere.

The General Directorate of Meteorology forecast in its morning bulletin said that the weather will be normal summer weather, partly cloudy in the western regions and clear in the rest of the country, with a slight chance of local light rain showers over these areas, while it will be misty in the eastern, al-Jazeera, al-Badiya, and southern regions.

The weather will be generally cool at night and cold in the highlands, with high humidity in the morning and the possibility of light fog in parts of the central region and Qalamoun during the early morning hours.

Winds will be light to moderate southwesterly, with active gusts exceeding 50 kilometers per hour, especially in the northwestern, central, and southern regions, causing dust storms in these areas.

The sea will be light and sometimes wavy.
