SARC Calls for Protection of Civilians and Volunteers

Damascus, SANA- Syrian Arab Red Crescent Organization (SARC) affirmed its continued provision of services despite the challenges facing its work in the southern region.

In a statement, the Organization said “Unfortunate news has arrived about the numerous violations targeting Syrian Arab Red Crescent volunteers, vehicles, and facilities while responding to the events in the southern region. These include individual attacks targeting volunteers, an ambulance being shot at, and the burning of a warehouse and a number of vehicles parked nearby.”

It expressed its deep regret and sorrow over the recent developments, calling for the neutralization and protection of civilians and volunteers, and for their lives not to be endangered.

The SARC stressed its commitment to its humanitarian principles, primarily neutrality and impartiality, and its continued life-saving services in Sweida and Daraa, while emphasizing the safety of its volunteers as a priority.
