Independent National Investigative ,Fact-Finding Committee to hold a press conference

Damascus, SANA – The Independent National Committee for Investigation and Fact-Finding about the incidents occurred in the Syrian coast announced on Monday that it will hold a press conference tomorrow to outline its methodology, mechanism, as well as the outcomes of its investigations and recommendations.

“This comes in response to the Presidency of the Syrian Arab republic’s statement and its requirements in promoting transparency and the right to know the fact”, the committee said.

In a press statement, the Committee said it “submitted the final report, along with all its attachments, on July 13, 2025, to the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Ahmad Al-Sharaa after it had officially completed its investigation, inquiry, and conclusions”.

The committee stated that it “spent the four months mandate -the timeframe allocated to finish its mission – in touring various villages neighborhoods, and regions, inspected the sites of the incidents, examined the various cemeteries and burial sites, met hundreds of individuals in many cities, villages, and neighborhoods, heard witnesses, government officials and individuals related to incidents, wrote down and recorded testimonies in compliance with the legal procedures and the committee’s mandate and criteria.

The committee indicated that it had conducted intensified consultations with the UN’s relevant bodies and discussed, in its ongoing meetings and correspondence, mechanisms for adopting the best possible methods, standards, and procedures in the investigation.

The committee stated that its findings were based on the information, documents, reports, testimonies, and physical and digital evidence it had examined.

The committee greeted all who cooperated with it, extended its sincere condolences to the families of the victims, both civilians and government forces, affirmed its firm belief in the necessity of achieving justice and redress for the victims.
