Syrian Finance Ministry: Attacks by outlaw groups in Sweida hinder salary payments

Damascus, SANA- The Finance Ministry confirmed that attacks by outlaw groups in Sweida province hamper its efforts to complete the disbursement of salaries to workers and retirees.

The ministry said in a statement on Thursday that it had initiated procedures to transfer the salaries of those working in the public sector in Sweida province, but was surprised to find that some of these funds were subjected to armed robbery by outlaw groups, including the robbery of the Commercial Bank of Syria branch in Shahba. The ministry noted that this attack by outlaw groups hinders its efforts to complete the payment of salaries to employees and retirees.

The state is keen to fulfill its duty towards all its citizens and looks forward to providing the conditions that facilitate this, most importantly the safety of workers in public institutions established to serve the honorable people of the province, the ministry added.
