Weather: The current hot wave in Syria is normal and its peak is until Monday

9 August، 2025

Damascus, SANA- Meteorology Department said Saturday that the hot wave that Syria began to be affected by during the past twenty-four hours is normal and its affect will continue until the end of this week, with its peak impact lasts until Monday.

The Department warned against sun exposure today during the peak period from 11 to 5 pm, indicating that temperatures will be higher than rate, and vary according to regions, reaching 49 degrees in the eastern region and Aljazeera, while in the interior, central, southern and northwestern regions they will be between 44 and 45 degrees.

It explained that the temperature will be higher than its rate, as a result of the country being affected by an extension of a superficial Indian seasonal pressure accompanied by a subtropical high extension in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
