Iraqi Embassy in Damascus denies closure of al-Qaim Crossing

Damascus, SANA- The Iraqi Embassy in Damascus has denied social media reports claiming the closure of the al-Qaim border crossing with Syria, confirming that passenger and trade movement remains unaffected.

In a statement published Wednesday on its official Facebook page, the Iraqi Embassy said that “No decision has been made to close the crossing; it is operating regularly.

Syria and Iraq reopened al-Bukamal–al-Qaim crossing to passenger and commercial traffic on June 14, strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.
