Washington, SANA-The death toll from the massive flooding that swept through Kerr County, Texas, has risen to at least 50, including 15 children, local authorities announced on Sunday morning.
CNN quoted Texas Governor Greg Abbott as saying via X platform that the Mystic Girls Summer Camp suffered “horrific” destruction, unlike any other natural disaster the state has ever seen.
Abbott affirmed that rescue teams are continuing to search for survivors, especially as floodwaters begin to recede in some areas.
Local authorities reported that more than 850 people have been rescued so far, while searches are still underway for 27 missing girls from the stricken camp.
