TikTok restores US service, thanks Trump

Washington, SANA- TikTok has confirmed the resumption of its app services in the US on Monday.

That came following President-elect Donald Trump’s announcement on the eve of his inauguration that he will extend the period of time before the ban on TikTok takes effect.

Reuters quoted Trump as saying that he agrees on the resumption of TikTok service provided that the United States gets 50% ownership of the app.

TikTok commented through a statement on the X platform that “its services in the United States have been resumed as a result of the efforts of President Trump.”

The company had suspended its app in the United States on Sunday, due to not receiving assurances from the administration of President Joe Biden that the law that “bans the platform in the United States unless its Chinese owner agrees to sell it” will not be implemented.
