Riyadh, Oct. 11 (SANA) Syrian national Buthaina Ahmad Oweida died following an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Syria’s chargé d’affaires in Saudi Arabia, Mohsen Mahbash, said on Sunday.
In a statement to SANA, Mahbash said the Syrian Embassy in Riyadh mourned Oweida and extended its sincere condolences to her family, praying for mercy for the deceased and patience and solace for her loved ones.
The embassy also extended condolences to Saudi Arabia and the families of all those killed in the attack, expressing solidarity with the Kingdom and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation said the attack on Saturday killed 12 people and injured 309 others. The injured were receiving treatment at several hospitals, while authorities were assessing property damage.
