Washington, Sept. 7 (SANA) At least five people were killed and five others injured after an Amazon Air cargo plane overshot a runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday and struck several vehicles before catching fire, US officials said.

The Boeing 767-300, operated by 21 Air for Amazon, had arrived from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Three of the injured were in critical condition, while several victims were trapped in or under vehicles struck by the aircraft.

More than 200 firefighters responded to the crash and extinguished the blaze.

The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash, while Amazon said it would cooperate fully with authorities.
