Moscow, June 22 (SANA) Russian authorities temporarily closed all four major Moscow airports on Monday following the interception of multiple drones over the capital, officials said.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said air defense systems destroyed 59 drones during the attack, without specifying their origin, according to Reuters.

Flight operations were briefly suspended as a precaution before later resuming, aviation authorities said.

The incident comes amid an ongoing exchange of drone strikes between Russia and Ukraine, with no official confirmation of responsibility for the latest attacks.

Separately, a Ukrainian security source said on June 12 that Kyiv was seeking an additional $20 billion in military funding from European allies to strengthen its capabilities against Russia.
