Beirut, May 30 (SANA) Southern Lebanon and Western Beqaa saw intense Israeli military escalation on Saturday, with airstrikes, artillery shelling, and demolition operations hitting multiple towns and causing casualties and significant damage.
The Lebanese Army said on X that two soldiers were seriously injured after an Israeli drone targeted their vehicle on the main road in Ebba town, Nabatieh District.
Israeli airstrikes hit Touline, Qabrikha, and Dibbin in Marjayoun District, with Dibbin subjected to intense bombardment, including two missiles from an Apache helicopter, alongside extensive demolition operations inside the town.
Strikes also struck the vicinity of Qalaat al-Shaqif, while a drone hit Ebba again, causing two injuries. Israeli aviation attacked Haris, Yater, Kfar Dounin, and Froun in Nabatieh District, plus Blat in Marjeyoun and Zrariyeh in Sidon District.
In Tyre District, rescue teams recovered two bodies from a building hit by an Israeli airstrike in Burj Shamali.
The outskirts of Rihan, Aaichiyeh, and Mahmoudiyeh in Jezzine District were shelled by artillery, while a third airstrike hit Mashghara in the Beqaa West. Later, the mayor of Kfouar’s home was completely destroyed in an airstrike, followed by two more strikes on Mashghara.
Al-Mansouri, Byout El Saiyad, Qlaileh, and Majdal Zoun were also shelled amid intensive Israeli air activity.
The Israeli occupation army issued a third urgent evacuation order to residents of Merouaniyeh, Loubieh, Meidoun, Ansariyah, Zefta, and Tefahta, ordering them to move north of the Zahrani River.
An Israeli drone was also spotted flying at low altitude over Beirut.
Earlier today, three Lebanese were killed and 11 others injured in Israeli airstrikes on villages and towns in Nabatieh District.
