Ankara, May 14 (SANA) Türkiye and Belgium signed a series of agreements aimed at expanding cooperation in the defense industry during a visit by a high-level Belgian economic delegation to Türkiye.
According to Anadolu Agency, six agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed between Turkish and Belgian companies operating in the defense and technology sectors.
Among the agreements, Turkish defense industry group SAHA Istanbul and Belgium’s Agoria-BSDI vzw signed a memorandum of understanding focused on cooperation in defense and space innovation.
The agreement aims to strengthen ties between the Turkish and Belgian defense sectors through joint research activities, technological cooperation and commercial exchange.
Turkish defense company FNSS and Belgium’s John Cockerill Defense also signed an agreement to explore new markets and expand cooperation in armored vehicle production.
The companies said they remain committed to supplying armored vehicles to international markets.
Additional agreements were signed between several Turkish and Belgian firms, including Turkish defense manufacturer Aselsan and Belgium’s Sonaca Group, aimed at increasing cooperation across multiple industrial fields.
The agreements were signed during a visit by a Belgian economic delegation led by Queen Mathilde, who arrived in Turkey on May 10 as part of efforts to strengthen trade and economic ties between the two countries.
