Occupied Jerusalem, April 30 (SANA) Israeli navy intercepted a number of vessels from the Sumud Flotilla on Wednesday as the ships headed toward the Gaza Strip in an effort to challenge the blockade imposed on the territory.
Israeli media, cited by Reuters, reported that authorities had begun taking control of aid ships bound for Gaza before they approached the coastline.
Earlier, the organizers said in a statement, reported by Anadolu Agency, that most of its vessels had been subjected to electronic interference while sailing in the Mediterranean Sea toward Gaza.
In a post on its Instagram account, the Global Sumud Flotilla group said: “Most of the flotilla’s boats are subject to jamming.”
The Sumud Flotilla is carrying humanitarian aid and includes around 100 vessels with approximately 1,000 activists from several countries on board.
