Ankara, April 8 (SANA) Türkiye welcomed a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran on Wednesday, stressing that dialogue and diplomacy are essential to achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.

In a statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said there is “no path to lasting peace in the region except through dialogue, diplomacy, and mutual trust,” underscoring the need for full implementation of the ceasefire on the ground.

The ministry expressed hope that all parties would adhere to the agreement and avoid actions that could undermine the truce.

Türkiye also welcomed Pakistan’s role in facilitating the process, expressing support for continued initiatives aimed at advancing peace and stability in the region.

The ministry said Ankara stands ready to support upcoming negotiations expected to take place in Islamabad.
